San Miguel de Allende Vow Renewal | Mojijanga Parade | Desiree + Andrew
When you love San Miguel de Allende as much as Desiree and Andrew do, it is a natural decision to renew your vows in this romantic UNESCO city!
Desiree and Andrew have been together for sixteen years and married for eleven. They have been living in San Miguel de Allende since September 2020 and couldn’t be happier about their decision and I couldn’t be more honored to coordinate and photograph their vow renewal is this breathtaking city!
When we first spoke, they shared that they wanted to have their ceremony in a beautiful and private garden in centro. I work with a number of homeowners and found the perfect setting for them where the bougainvillea was in full bloom.
Their ceremony was so incredibly touching and the vows they read to each other so poignant. Desiree’s vows to Andrew moved him so that he leaned over and kissed her before the official ‘kiss’ moment. How special is that!
After their garden vow renewal ceremony, we headed out to the cobblestone streets of San Miguel for photos. We first met up with two Mojigangas, giant puppets created by the incredibly talented artist, Hermes Arroyo. Mojigangas are often used as part of a Callejoneada, a wedding parade of the couple and their guests; however, you don’t need to have guests to have Mojigangas! How fun it was for Desiree and Andrew to dance around the streets with these towering puppets dancing with them!
After the Mojigangas left, we walked around the streets a bit more taking photos. As I was editing their images, I truly believed that they reflected the love, admiration and joy these two have for each other.
Congratulations Desiree and Andrew and thank you for the incredible honor to capture your love!
